TESTAMENT Frontman Interviewed On 'Wytching Hour'
November 12, 2011WYKKED WYTCH vocalist Ipek conducted an interview with TESTAMENT frontman Chuck Billy at the November 2 Ft. Lauderdale, Florida stop of the band's North American tour with ANTHRAX and DEATH ANGEL. The chat, which aired on the November 10, 2011 edition of "Wytching Hour" show on Metal Messiah Radio, can be streamed using the audio player below. A video excerpt from the interview is also available.
TESTAMENT's new album, "The Dark Roots Of Earth", is tentatively due in late April/early May 2012 via Nuclear Blast Records.
Commented Billy: "The new record that we're [recording], you don't just have to be a metal fan to enjoy the record that we're gonna be putting out next year. We wrote some really good songs, and I think that's a part of it having [most of] the [original lineup reunited] and the confidence and not being afraid to step out and try some other things and some new things. It's definitely classic TESTAMENT, but like I said, you wouldn't necessarily just have to be a metal to enjoy the songs; we really do have some really good songs that people would enjoy listening to because they are just good songs. I think having the original guys back together, it's all about the confidence and being able to venture out and do some other things."
TESTAMENT has tapped Gene "The Atomic Clock" Hoglan (ex-DARK ANGEL, ex-STRAPPING YOUNG LAD, FEAR FACTORY, DETHKLOK) to sit behind the kit for select dates on the ANTHRAX tour. Gene is performing with TESTAMENT from October 28 through November 13; the remainining dates will see TESTAMENT joined by John Tempesta (EXODUS, WHITE ZOMBIE, ROB ZOMBIE, HELMET, THE CULT).
Due to a "serious injury," regular TESTAMENT drummer Paul Bostaph is unable to take part in the tour. Paul was also absent from the recording sessions for "The Dark Roots Of Earth".
